The life of a tree can be any part of tree from the earliest green shoot to the old weather beaten trunk. Look at different parts of a tree that all go to make up the life of a tree but don’t forget the whole tree, perhaps standing alone in a paddock taken early morning or late afternoon to give it drama. The ancient decaying tree that makes you wonder what life story it may have to tell. What about the beautiful bark patterns that change as the tree ages, its flowers and seed pods are all part of its life. Try to be different in depicting your tree, what about a triptych or a collage so you can depict several aspects of your tree as long as they are one screen. Don’t forget the beautiful autumn colours of a tree and the wonderful structure of the branches when it has lost all its leaves. Try to keep your image simple so there is no doubt that your tree is the COI.
