Decay

Tips

What a wonderful subject. All the endless subjects that are ending their life in decay. All those old wooden buildings that are falling down and should be recorded before they no longer exist.(great in black & white) Take parts of decaying objects, lichen covered window sills or rotting logs covered in mosses.. Dead flowers make wonderful shots, (sepia toned) Broken down rusting cars etc, fallen broken headstones in cemeteries, old stumps washed up on beaches. The choice is endless. Use you macro lens to emphasise the decay. Try to keep your images simple so that the emphasis is on the decaying object and not the surrounding landscapes. Don’t forget your composition.
