Important: New Changes to Assessment Nights

Dear Members

The committee and Phil are working hard to keep the NSPS up to date with modern technological conveniences.

These include a great website, a 4K projector and laptop and the ability to allow the judges to have a good long look at our images for assessment.

So we will be implementing a couple more changes for the October club night.  Here are the three things you need to look out for.

Kaimanawa horses

Hi All,

Please find attached the details of Photography trip to the Kaimanawa horses in November. This is an amazing opportunity to see the horses in the wild, in what is the most amazing landscape!

The trip is limited to only 20 people! It is on a first come, first serve basis, and I have some people who have specifically asked to be included, so I suggest if you are interested, please get in now!

Last year, the bookings were all taken up within a number of days, and I expect the same again this year.

Steampunk Photoshoot Opportunity

If you are not attending the Central Regional Convention in Whanganui you are welcome to attend the Steampunk Express event at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway, Waiuku on Saturday 29th September and mingle with the Auckland steampunk fraternity and photograph them against the backdrop of the GVR steam train, the GVR station or their workshops and yards. This is a private event and will run from 9.00am to 3.00 pm.

Nelson National Triptych 2018

There are two ways you can create a triptych. One way is to divide one image into three parts and the other way is to use three separate images.

Changes to the Grading System

After much discussion, the committee has decided to make some changes to the grading and promotion system for the coming year.

We will be adding a new grade beyond the current A grade, and making it harder (or rather, making it take longer) to progress through the grades.  The new grade will be called the "Salon" grade ("S" for short).  Members whose grade is currently A Bronze or above will be judged at the Salon grade.
